3 for 30 Wellness Challenge

What is the 3 for 30 Path to Wellness Challenge? The American College of Sports Medicine recommends that most adults should accumulate a minimum of 30 minutes of moderate exercise daily to maintain a healthy active lifestyle. This new challenge is structured to help motivate you to meet the recommended guidelines.

ACSM’s threshold for an active lifestyle is 30 minutes of exercise 3 days per week for 3 months. Start your wellness path in 2018 by signing up for our challenge. This year, it will be co-hosted by Campus Recreation and Kilter Rewards, a mobile fitness incentives app that gives you $1 in rewards for every workout!

Register HERE   Once you complete the registration Download the Kilter Rewards app and create an account. Make sure you use the same email address that you registered with when you create your Kilter account.  (You must first register through the link provided to be entered into our 3 for 30 Challenge)

In addition to the benefits that you will receive from your own personal journey through exercise, we will also provide a weekly email sharing a motivational tip for the week, a nutrition tip and what program options we are offering.

HOW THE CHALLENGE WORKS:

Every time you visit one of the UIC gyms, check in through Kilter Rewards.

  1. Work out and check in at least 3 times per week throughout the duration of the challenge.
  2. Once you’ve hit your 3x per week goal for at least 4 weeks out of the 12 week challenge, you will  earn 30% off any service. Must register by Feb. 1st to receive the T-shirt. But wait, if you keep going, you could win bigger prizes!
  3. Workout 3x per week for at least 8 weeks and be entered into a raffle for our TIER TWO PRIZES.
  4. Workout 3x per week for all 12 weeks and be entered into a raffle win our GRAND PRIZES.

Every four weeks, Kilter Rewards will email you a progress report telling you how you’re doing in the challenge!

RAFFLE STRUCTURE:

GRAND PRIZES (must check in to workout 3x per week for 12 weeks – raffle drawing)

1 Fitness Assessment and 3 personal training sessions

1 60 minute massage

1 Underwater Weighing and Resting Metabolic Rate Test

TIER TWO PRIZES (must check in to workout 3x per week for 12 weeks – raffle drawing)

1 30 minute massage

1 Fitness Assessment with 1 personal training session

Resting metabolic rate test

TIER THREE PRIZE (must check in to workout 3x per week for 4 weeks – everyone can earn this!)

30% off any service

Everyone who completes at the Tier Three Level and registers by February 1st  will receive a t-shirt!

Membership Promotion

boximage_memberserviceNot a UIC Campus Recreation Member? Campus Recreation is offering a FREE Trial Membership for the month of January for all *Non-Member UIC Faculty/Staff. The earlier you sign up the more free days to enjoy campus recreation facilities and services. By signing up during this time you will receive free facility access to both the Student Recreation Facility (737 S. Halsted) and the Sport & Fitness Center (828 S. Wolcott) through January 31st.

Payroll deduction will begin on February 16 (for Monthly) or February 7 (for Bi-Weekly). If you do not wish to continue your membership, you MUST cancel your membership on or before January 31, 2018.  To submit your cancellation, please go to http://recreation.uic.edu/cancellations/ .   If your membership cancellation form is not submitted by the end of the day of January 31, 2018, you will be automatically signed up for a UIC Campus Recreation membership.  This membership will be paid through your payroll deduction ($28.34/monthly) or ($14.17/bi-weekly) for a minimum of 6 months.   If you choose to cancel your membership prior to July 1, 2018 there will be a 50.00 cancellation fee.

Registration may take place at any time between January 2-31 at either the Student Recreation Center or Sport & Fitness Center.
With access to both the Student Recreation Facility and the Sport & Fitness Center, you’ll have the chance to enjoy many outstanding programs, services, and amenities.
