Phase 4 Reopening Policies & Procedures
We have made some changes in operation and policies to help provide a safer environment for our students and members and abide by the guidelines put forth by the State of Illinois for our recreation facilities. Please familiarize yourself with these new operations and policies BEFORE returning to Campus Recreation Facilities. Also, please keep in mind that future changes may be made as we continue to adjust to returning to full operation. Rec is opening with 50% capacity per activity area
- Face coverings are required for entry and throughout the facility, including while exercising other than in water. Click HERE for information about wearing facemasks while exercising
- Temperature screens are required for entry. If temperature is at or above 100.4 you will not be allowed to enter. You may show your daily pass “ADMIT” on your phone for entry.
- COVID protocol
- Only members of Campus Recreation are allowed entry at this time.

Membership and Lockers
- All lockers including daily lockers require locks. Bring your own or purchase at membership.
- UIC Students and Campus Recreation members are not allowed to sponsor guests at this time. Non-member Faculty/Staff are still able to utilize facilities with a day pass.

The following spaces/programs will be open with modified use
- Pool (Limited Total Occupancy 12:SRF and 6:SFC)
- One Person per Lap Lane. There will be a white board on deck to reserve your place in line.
- Group Fitness Classes
Pre-Registration is required for ALL (LIVE OR VIRTUAL) DROP IN FITNESS CLASSES.
All fitness participants will be required to create an account on IMLeagues.com. (Note: If you participate in Intramurals you already have an account. Click on the Fitness Tab in the header). Please note that IMLeagues also offers a completely free mobile app called “IMLeagues” available for FREE in both app stores.- No Shared equipment

- Some machines are off-line to provide the required physical distancing
- Some areas are limited to a specific number of patrons
- You are required to maintain physical distancing throughout the facility including the fitness floor.

- The climbing wall is currently closed and there are no scheduled trips for Spring 2021.

Rentals and Reservations
- Currently we are only accepting rentals for the Outdoor Field Complex. Click HERE for the rental request form. The Outdoor Field Complex will reopen as weather permits in the Spring.

Precautions we are taking
- Hand sanitizer and gym wipes will be available throughout the facility.
- We have reduced operational hours to allow for increased cleaning and disinfecting.
- Sneeze guards have been installed and Staff will be required to wear face masks.
- Various pieces of equipment have been marked unavailable due to distancing guidelines.
- The fitness floor will have designated areas with capacity restrictions, with proper physical distancing required. Due to physical distancing requirements, NO SPOTTING allowed. Please use caution selecting weights.
- On-site reservations will be provided to utilize the Lap Lanes at SRF and SFC. There will be a white board located on deck to reserve your lane.
- Water fountains will be unavailable, only bottle fillers will be available.
- Massage Therapy and Fitness Testing will be by appointment only.

What is Expected of You
- Adhere to the Campus Recreation COVID-19 Protocol when visiting the Rec Center.
- Stay at home if you are sick or show symptoms of COVID-19.
- Wash and sanitize your hands frequently.
- Practice physical distancing of at least 6 feet from others.
- Clean exercise equipment/locker/benches etc. before and after use with provided gym wipes.
- Face coverings are REQUIRED while for entry and throughout the facility including while exercising other than in water.
- Temperature screening is required at entry. If your temperature is at or above 100.4 you will NOT be allowed entry.
- For Students/Faculty/Staff, If you have completed the “Daily Survey” you may show your “ADMIT” pass on your phone
- Read Assumption of Risk Statement before participating in Campus Recreation online offerings.
