Are you bored with your workout?  Are you new to exercise and not sure where to start?  Our fitness programs and services are designed to help you get and stay fit. Currently registered students and members, at least 18 years of age, are invited to take advantage of the following programs and services.

Drop-In Group Fitness

Our Drop-In Group Fitness classes include cycling, flex, hard core, cardio kick, bootcamp and more.   The Drop-In Group classes are on a first come, first serve basis as some classes have space and equipment restrictions.   To stay on the cutting edge of fitness, our schedule changes each semester.  A pdf of the current schedule is available on the left hand column.

Group Session Classes

Group Fitness Session classes are a great way to stay motivated with your workouts.  Whether you take a yoga, Pilates Reformer, aqua or Zumba class, you will be inspired to workout!  The Group Fitness Session programs are fee-based and are open to UIC Students, Campus Recreation Members and non-members.  In order to be allowed entrance into the facility, all non-members must bring his/her government issued picture ID to the membership desk.

Instructional Programs

Have you ever wanted to take a dance class or learn to rock climb? If so, our Instructional Programs are for you! These non-credit instruction courses are progressive in nature and focus on experiential learning, skill building, wellness, and fitness.  Instructional programs are fee-based and are open to UIC Students, Campus Recreation Members and non-members.   Our offerings change each semester so be sure to check out the latest program.

Synrgy360- Small Group Fitness

NEW to to SFC! Synrgy360 small group training combines elements such as TRX, kettlebells, boxing, battle ropes, and more, into a multi-stationed adult jungle gym. Our certified personal trainers will take you through a functional, effective circuit-style class to help you reach your goals . All fitness levels are welcomed.

Get FIT Challenge

The Get FIT Challenge is an opportunity for individuals to start living a more active and healthy lifestyle. Participants will actively try to decrease body fat percentage over the course of 11 weeks. The individuals with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd largest body fat percentage loss will be rewarded!

 Program Includes:

  •    Pre and Post Measurements
  •    Access to all drop-in classes (Please find drop in schedule here)
  •    Monthly Fitness Challenges and seminars
  •   Weekly motivational emails
  •    A “Get Fit” T-shirt


Students: $50.00

Members: $70.00

Faculty/Staff Non-Members: $150.00*

*Includes a 3 month membership 


Important Dates:

Pre-testing- January 15-31

-Stop in the Human Performance Lab located in the SRF between the hours of 9am-7pm Mon-Fri or 10am-2pm on Saturdays to take measurements. No appointment is necessary.

 Program runs from February 1-April 17

 Nutrition Seminars

February 23, March 30 and April 20 at 5pm

 Monthly Fitness Challenges

February 24, April 1, and April 21 at 5pm

Post-testing- April 20-May 1
