  1. What is F45?
    F45 Training is a 45-minute functional, high-intensity, circuit training workout. Each class begins with a short warm-up, the main workout and a brief cooldown.
  2. What are the benefits of F45?
    The combination of interval, cardiovascular, and strength training that F45 Training offers has been proven to be an effective workout method for burning fat and building lean muscle. Participating in F45 Training will help you build strength, improve cardiovascular fitness, increase speed, enhance agility, and gain flexibility. In addition to the effectiveness of the workout, F45 Training allows you the opportunity to reach new goals in a team environment.
  3. What is Functional Training?
    Functional Training is the engagement in exercises that mimic or recreate everyday movement. These types of exercises typically involve the use of your full body and multiple muscle groups. This style of training builds and sculpts lean, functional muscle – Lifting, Squatting, Jumping, Twisting, Pulling, Pushing, Punching, Kicking, Rowing, Biking – all of these movements qualify as “Functional”…and all can be found at F45 Training.
  4. What is High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)?
    HITT stands for a style of workout meaning high intensity, interval training. It is a cardiovascular exercise strategy alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods.
  5. Who is F45 training designed for?
    Everyone! F45 is particularly geared toward individuals who want to be challenged and grow their daily training routine while having fun.
  6. What level of fitness is required for F45 training classes?
    F45 is meant to accommodate participants of all fitness levels.  F45 Training is a high intensity workout so it is helpful to have some experience and understanding of using many different forms of workout equipment including weight training equipment. Trainers in the class will be available to accommodate various fitness levels and provide modifications for challenging exercises.
  7. What do I need to do in order to participate in F45 classes?
    You need to purchase F45 membership. All memberships must be purchased in person.

  9. Are your F45 sessions available to the public?
    F45 sessions are available to UIC Students, Campus Recreation members, and the public.

  11. When should I arrive to class?
    You should arrive to class at least 5-10 minutes early to check in.  No one will be admitted once the class has begun.
  12. How do I sign up for class?
    Classes are reserved through our online portal Club Automation. All members have a CA Account. If you need assistance with your UN and Password email uicrec@uic.edu. You can also reserve class times with our new phone APP. Click here to download the app from your app store: Apple or Android. Your UN and Password are the same for the phone APP.
  13. Where do F45 Training classes take place?
    The F45 Studio is located in the Student Recreation Facility in Room 144 behind Tropical Smoothie.
  14. What do I need to bring to class?
    We encourage you to bring a towel and a water bottle.
  15. Where can I put my personal belongings?
    All personal belongings need to be stored in an express locker or secured in the locker rooms.
