Code of Conduct
The University of Illinois at Chicago Recreation and Wellbeing has specific rules and regulations, as well as general guidelines of good citizenship and responsible behavior. Members and guests should understand that by virtue of enrollment, all enter into a formal agreement with the University of Illinois at Chicago that they will abide by the institution’s rules and regulations and will observe the standards expected of members and guests.
Participants are expected to be courteous to other facility users and employees and to follow the rules, policies, and safety instructions outlined by Recreation and Wellbeing. Facility users who engage in behavior or actions that might damage equipment or facilities, or pose a threat to the safety and wellbeing of themselves or others may lose their privileges. The staff and participants appreciate your cooperation in making our facilities a friendly and positive environment for recreational and social opportunities. Physical and/or sexual abuse or vulgar, obscene, abusive, derogatory, or demeaning comments and gestures are prohibited and could lead to loss of privileges. In addition, all users are expected to abide by the University of Illinois at Chicago Code of Conduct (see resources below).
Recreation and Wellbeing is dedicated to providing an inclusive environment with safe services, programs, and facilities that are welcoming to all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, spirituality, gender, gender identity/expression, age, sexual orientation, ability/disability, socioeconomic class, or national origin. We provide multiple workout areas and programs to address various skills, abilities, and individual comfort levels. Members and program participants are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with University and Recreation and Wellbeing Inclusive Commitment Standards.
